ENG 3200 Novel:Defoe-Austen Critically studies the origins of the English novel in the eighteenth century, with attention to the ways it emerged out of contemporary genres such as travel narrative, letters, memoirs, scandal chronicles, and journalism. Authors may include Behn, Defoe, Richardson, Walpole, Fielding, Sterne, Burney, Radcliffe, Edgeworth, and Austen. Prerequisite(s): ENG 2000 Credits: 3.0
