ENG 3230 20th Century European Fiction


Studies major continental European fiction against the social, political, and intellectual milieu of twentieth-century Europe. Within the framework of the modernist and postmodernist literary movements, authors may include Gide, Colette, Proust, Dinesen, Rilke, Malraux, Camus, Robbe-Grillet, Sarraute, Duras, Celine, Nin, Bernanos, Unamuno, Mann, Remarque, Kafka, Boll, Aichinger, Roch, Grass, Kunera, Calvino, Svevo, Moravia, Silone, Nabokov, Solzhenitsyn, and Babel.
