HIST 3020 Origins of Civilization A survey of the world’s oldest civilizations, including ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Hebrews, and the ancient Near East in general. The course examines how and why civilizations originated and developed in the ancient Near East. Focus includes art and archaeology as well as political, social, and religious history.
