HIST 3040 Rome: Republic and Empire


A survey of critical issues and developments in Roman history from the founding of the city in the eighth century B.C. to the fall of the Empire in the fifth century A.D. Particular attention is placed on the historical effects of social and political growth and decline. Topics include both political- constitutional history and the development of social institutions such as the family and marriage. Prerequisite(s): HIST 1010  OR HIST 1020  OR HIST 1030  OR HIST 1040  OR HIST 1050
