HIST 3890 Latino History Since 1898 A twentieth-century history of people of Latin American descent (Latinos/as) living in the United States. The course focuses on the four largest Latina/o groups (Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Dominicans), and covers migration patterns, cultural interactions, community and cultural formation, and racial formations. It also examines relations among Latina/os and European immigrants, and considers the effects of U.S. intervention and imperialism in Latin America on U.S. Latino communities.
