CODS 3210 Speech and Language Acquisition

This course examines theories, stages, developmental sequences, and processes related to first language acquisition. The social, communicative and cognitive bases of early language will be discussed. Topics related to bilingualism, dialects, and language variation will be addressed. Training in the analysis of language samples obtained from typically developing children is provided.
