SMED 3000 First Aid and CPR

This course will teach the student how to recognize and respond to medical and trauma emergencies. The student will be prepared to make appropriate decisions regarding first aid care and how to provide care for injuries or sudden illness until additional help arrives. Students will also be taught the basics of teaching first aid and CPR. Upon completion of this course and meeting all requirements, students will become certified in advanced first aid and health care provider CPR, as well as a certified first aid and CPR instructor.

This class fulfills UCC area 5. Admission to the Sports Medicine Major. Prerequisite(s): SMED 2000 and SMED 2200 and SMED 2400
