Topics: special theory of relativity, dual properties of electromagnetic radiation. Young’s diffraction, blackbody radiation, photoelectric effect. Compton effect, specific heats. Frank-Hertz experiment. Rutherford scattering. Bohr’s atomic model, quantum mechanical description of a particle, elementary theory of nuclear structure and reactions.
