SOC 4850 Senior Seminar in Sociology This capstone course serves as a culmination of students’ coursework and training in the discipline, and facilitates the transition from sociology major to career. Students will deepen their knowledge of sociology by using major sociological paradigms to examine current issues in the field through a combination of writing, oral reports, and research. Key ideas in the discipline will also be assessed in terms of how they can be applied outside of the university setting. There will be focus on activities that prepare students for their careers and post-baccalaureate education. This is a UCC Writing Intensive course in which students will write at least 15 pages during the semester, including one substantive paper. The overarching theme of the course will vary by instructor.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 3020 with a C- or higher Credits: 3.0
