ELEC 6340 Issues and Trends in Early Childhood

This course is designed to examine recent trends and issues in early childhood education. Inclusion, observation of children in classroom settings, portfolio assessment, and multicultural perspectives are some of the topics to be explored. Educators of young children must be prepared to include children with special needs into regular education programs, make classroom adaptations, use support services, and develop a sense of community among children.
