SMAT 5700 Ss Content Pedag & Coll I

Social Studies Content Pedagogy and Colloquium I is the first part of a two semester hybrid graduate course that runs concurrently with teacher residency. Students will learn about the history and purpose of the social studies, as well as methods on how to teach the National Council for the Social Studies thematic strands, the NJCC standards for social studies, and the Common Core Social Studies - Literacy standards for teaching diverse learners in the middle and high school. Prerequisite(s): SMAT 5000
