MUSI 6220 Orff Schulwerk Level One

An active, hands-on course for students to learn the basic teaching strategies in the Orff Schulwerk elemental approach to music and movement education. Content will include the pentatonic scale, simple borduns, the ostinato, and playing pitched and unpitched percussion instruments and the soprano recorder. Topics and skills in this highly participatory course will also include vocal and rhythmic training, movement, and improvisation. Prerequisite(s): Matriculated in M.M.(Master of Music) or completion of an undergraduate degree from accredited university.
