ANTH 3410 Law in Society and Culture This course examines mechanisms societies have developed to resolve disputes. Comparing American society to other industrial and preindustrial societies, law and political organizations are shown to have cultural ways of coping with conflict strongly linked to variations in subsistence, economy, and social stratification.
