CIED 3050 Teaching Methods English Language Learners This course examines the theory and practice, materials, techniques and assessment necessary for the teaching of English to linguistically diverse children. The course employs a realistic, application-based approach, encouraging teacher candidates to create lesson plans and assignments and then modify them to meet ELLs’ learning needs. Teacher candidates will engage in meaningful learining experiences with a student learning English. Learning to structure the mainstream classroom environment so that its climate and culture address the emotional and academic needs of all students is also a primary focus of this course. Prerequisite(s): CIED 2030 and CIED 2050 . Credits: 3.0
