LANG 1410 World Literature: Modern and Contemporary An introduction and exploration of modern and contemporary world literature which concentrates in the diverse production of four large areas in the world: Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. The course aims at developing the student’s appreciation for literature focusing in works of poetry, essay, fiction, and drama; while highlighting the major authors, literary trends, thematic patterns and diveristy of voices. Particular attention willbe given to the task of literature as an expressionn of a society’s values and ideals and/or as a challenge to the status quo. This course is taught in English. Credits: 3.0
