LANG 3400 Social and Psychological Processes of Multiculturation and Acculturation

This course studies the social and psychological factors affecting English language learners of diverse cultures enrolled in schools in the United States, in part by examining the historical and cultural backgrounds of limited English proficient students. The course is designed to sensitize teachers to their students’ personal adjustment to a new environment and to how this reorientation affects their acculturation as well as their motivation to learn.
