MATH 4900 Mathematics Research Experience This is a required course for all mathematics majors and should be taken, if possible, in the junior year. The course will be led by a faculty member and conducted in an inquiry based fashion, with coverage of topics determined by the interests of the students and faculty. Each student will complete a project of study in an area of mathematics or its applications, culminating in a presentation to the faculty and students, and a final paper submitted to the faculty advisor. Prerequisite(s): Must be registered or have completed in a 4000-level math course. Credits: 2.0
