POL 3200 Science and Politics This course is designed to acquaint the student with the relationship of natural science to politics and policy making. Topics include the origins and nature of the modern scientific method, the political and cultural impact of major scientific discoveries and theories (such as Darwin’s theory of evolution through natural selection), and the politics surrounding expert scientific advice to the U.S. government on issues including the environment, global warming, technology development, and other current concerns. Prerequisite(s): POL 1100 OR POL 1200 Credits: 3.0
