PSY 3770 Psychology of Music

This course will examine current directions and the history of the Psychology of Music. Topics may include: detection and perceptual organization of sound; the neuroscience of music perception and production; the influence of music on childhood development; the emotional impact of music; socio-cultural expressions of music; and architectural acoustics. To explore these topics, the course will be taught using a variety of readings, classroom presentations, and assignments that clarify influences of music in these and other areas.
