DIS 4950 Capstone In Disability Studies

The Capstone in Disability Studies is the culminating academic project designed to have students synthesize and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their Disability Studies program to real-world issues and problems. This systematic inquiry project provides students with the opportunity to explore a problem or issue of particular personal or professional interest and bring meaning to the problem or issue through a focused study of the literature and applied research under the direction of the course instructor. This final project should demonstrate the student’s ability to think critically and creatively, to solve practical problems, to make reasoned and ethical decisions, and to communicate effectively. The capstone project and other relevant accomplishments will be showcased in a presentation and professional e-portfolio at the end of the semester.
