CHIN 3090 Contemporary Chinese Culture

This course focuses on popular culture in contemporary China. We will look at different forms of popular culture including television, film, newspapers andmagazines, popular literature, fashion, pop music, and material culture, etc. These subjects will be studied from the perspective of their political, sociological, and cultural functions and through both written and visual documentation. Course will be taught in Chinese. Prerequisite(s): CHIN 2110
