SLP 4620 Auditory Rehabilitation This course addresses the effects of hearing loss in children and adults. Assessment and management techniques are covered. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of amplification, considerations in the selection of hearing aids, tactile devices, and other assistive technology. Eligibility criteria for cochlear implants, options for implant selection, and intervention techniques with this population are covered as well. Educational options for children with hearing loss are presented, and the significance of family education, counseling, and support is discussed. Course offered Spring semester only. Prerequisite(s): SLP 3730 Credits: 3.0
