HIST 3700 Traditional China This course examines Chinese history and its broad, global implications from their earliest times to approximately 1800. Focal points include the origins and evolution of China’s centralized bureaucratic system; the evolution of Confucianism, Taoism and Chinese Buddhism; interaction with foreign and minority cultures; political-economic relations including trade with distant partners; and cultural achievements.
