PHIL 2190 Philosophy of Justice What does it mean to be a just person, or to live in a just society? In what ways do we live up to this standard, and in what ways do we fall short? In this class, we will study traditional and contemporary theories of justice, and we will use these theories to analyze injustices that surround us in everyday life. Topics studied include human rights theory, utilitarianism, social contract theory, care ethics, diversity, distributive and criminal justice, inequality, oppression, racism, sexism, and heterosexism. Credits: 3.0
