WGS 2100 Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies

This course is an in-depth introduction to the interdisciplinary field of women’s studies. Introduces gender as a complex category of analysis and lived experience that is inextricably linked to other social and political categories including race, ethnicity, class, nation, sexuality, and disability. Explores and critiques representations of women in the arts and sciences, literary and philosophical traditions, as well as legal, economic, and political contexts. The course also focuses on the eays in which eomen have worked for social change and transformation, collectively and in coaliton with other groups.
