COMM 3525 Mobile Journalism


This is an intensive workshop-style storytelling course designed to provide students with the key writing and production skills to help them thrive as journalists using mobile gear. Students will research, write, shoot, and edit videos to create a range of different story content for the web, social media, and mobile platforms using best practices for reporting and producing. Hands-on instruction in journalism-focused video editing and mobile-based video/audio acquisition will punctuate a diverse tool kit of skills for emerging mobile journalists. The fundamentals of broadcast-style writing will be reinforced as well as the ethical codes and legal issues involved in mobile journalism. 

 

  Prerequisite(s): COMM 1160  ; and 30 credits completed.
