ARTS 3838 Motion Graphics I This course prepares students in the use of industry standard tools for motion graphics design, video composition and animation. Emphasis is placed on keyframe animation, basic motion design, audio integration, effects, and software presets. This course provides continuity with time-based media between traditional static graphic design courses and character animation. Students will work extensively with typography, video footage, still images, vector graphics, and audio assets to create advertisement promotions, and general video content. Individual artistic development of formal and conceptual ideas will be addressed through individual and group critiques. Students will study the history of the field, including the work of pioneers such as Norman McLaren, Saul Bass and Len Lye.
This course may be completed two times for a total of six credits. Prerequisite(s): ARTS 2500 and ARTS 3520 Credits: 3.0
