PHIL 2810 Meditation and Yoga This 1-credit course is open to students from all majors as a graduation elective. The course is designed to provide an introduction to the basic methods of and ideas behind a variety of meditative and yoga practices. Students will explore a variety of techniques and practices both in and out of the classroom, including basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditative exercises. No prior yoga or meditation experience is required. Coursework will be informed both by contemporary evidence-based approaches to meditation and yoga, as well as the study of the philosophical and historical traditions from which these approaches arise.
