ASN 3220 Topics in Korean Literature and Film This course examines seminal contemporary Korean literature and film to understand the larger historical, social, and cultural contexts from which they have emerged. It explores diverse topics such as colonial modernity, ideology and partition, war, economic development, democratic movements, immigration and multiculturalism, family, gender, and education. This course will also interrogate the Korean-American experience and identities, and the diverse, sometimes contradictory representations of the United States in Korean literature and film.
