CIEC 2001 Early Childhood Education for Paraprofessionals In this semester long early childhood education seminar, candidates will develop an understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching practices and the elements of effective curricular design in P-3 classrooms. They will also gain experiences in creating and selecting materials to facilitate learning, and developing classroom management skills. Candidates will develop lessons designed for diverse learners in preschool to grade 3 settings. Course topics include lesson planning using backwards design, the cycle of assessment-planning-teaching, NJ state learning standards, professional dispositions of effective teachers, context for learning and developmentally appropriate practices.
This class may be completed for a total of two (2) credits. Prerequisite(s): CIED 2070 Co-requisite(s): CIEC 3220 Credits: 1.0
