SOC 1010 The Social World: An introduction to Sociology Dive into the fascinating study of human society and social behavior. As an introduction to the field of sociology, this course explores how social forces shape our lives, identities, and interactions. You’ll learn about key sociological concepts and apply them to analyze contemporary issues, from inequality and globalization to culture and social change. Through engaging discussions, hands-on projects, and real-world case studies, you’ll develop your “sociological imagination” - a powerful tool for understanding the connections between personal experiences and larger social structures. Key topics include race, class and gender, family, education and religion. By the end of this course, you’ll have a new perspective on the social world around you and the skills to critically analyze complex social issues.
