CIED 3140 Professonal Learning Seminar I This seminar provides a comprehensive exploration of assessment practices designed to enhance student learning and instructional decision-making. Teacher candidates will engage with the formative assessment cycle, learning how to integrate learning targets and success criteria into their teaching. The course emphasizes the role of pre-assessment, teacher feedback, and strategies for student self- and peer assessment, fostering student ownership of learning. Candidates will explore how questioning strategies, homework, and performance tasks can extend student thinking.
Prerequisite(s): Pre-requisite: Meet all requirements to progress in the professional education sequence: requirements include completion of 60 or more credits, a GPA of 3.0 or above;
CIEE 3120 CIEE 3290 , CIED 2140 , CIEE 3400 .
