CDSJ 3100 Global Transformation: Culture and Political Economy This course is about the complex global system that connects people in different parts of the world. It will explore the historical emergence of global processes and issues that transform the economies, politics, culture, and environment in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and advanced capitalist countries. Global issues have impacted people in different parts of the world unequally. Economic, social, cultural, and environmental globalization issues that connect different parts of the world will be examined in depth. Global competencies will be combined with approaches to facilitate a just and sustainable future for humanity.
UCC Area L (Global Connectivities) Course Objectives: Analyze global connectivities and inequalities as shaped by global systems and their implications for people’s lives and global sustainability. Credits: 3.0
