ANTH 3500 Shamans Witches and Magic This course introduces students to the anthropological study of religion. Theories about the origins and functions of religion are examined, along with the role of religion in traditional non-Western societies. Shamanism, witchcraft, magic, religion in non-Western medicine, and religion conflict and change in the modern world are among the topics covered. Some sections of this course are Writing Intensive. Course offered Fall and Spring Semesters. Credits: 3.0
