ASN 4680 Ghandi and Nonviolence


The course studies the life, career, and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi in relation to the political and social development of modern India and in comparison to other anti-colonial resistance movements. The course also considers different approaches to historical understanding and representation including biography, autobiography, psychohistory, and subaltern studies, as well as political and intellectual narrative and analysis.
