HIST 3750 Chinese Communism This course examines the birth, evolution, and decline of Chinese communism. The foci of the course are as follows. First, it explores the origins of the Chinese communist movement in the early twentieth century. Second, it discusses the factors contributing to communist taking power in China in the wake of World War II. Third, it analyzes the decline of Chinese communism and the transformation of the communist state to a more plural society in the last three decades of the twentieth century. Prerequisite(s): HIST 1010 or HIST 1020 or HIST 1030 or HIST 1040 or HIST 1050 Credits: 3.0
