PSY 3750 Cognitive Psychology This course critically examines human information-processing capabilities and limitations. Emphasis will be placed on theoretical principles that underlie various cognitive functions including: attention, perception, memory, language, and problem solving. Developmental aspects of cognition will be included in the discussion of these topics. Students will also be exposed to some of the research that has shed significant light on the nature of cognition. As a writing intensive course, students will use writing-to-learn processes to engage both the conceptual and research aspects of cognition. They will use the skills learned to produce a major research paper. Prerequisite(s): General Psychology (PSY 1100 ). Credits: 3.0
