PSY 7012 Pre-Doctoral Internship


The Pre-Doctoral Internship course is offered concurrently with the pre-doctoral internship, which is completed at an off-site location. The primary purpose of this course is to promote student adaptation from the doctoral program at William Paterson to internship, and from internship to workplace. Internship is a total of 2000 hours, including client contact and supervision hours. The pre-doctoral internship is completed under the supervision of experienced and licensed clinical psychologists. It provides students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in order to achieve the professional competence that will be required for licensure and independent practice.
Students enrolled in this course must complete 40 hours per week of clinical time over the semester; in addition, students meet online 1 times per week for 2 hours and 40 minutes hours/minutes.

  Prerequisite(s): Passing grade in PSY 7050  Practicum VI; 
Passing grade in PSY 7003   Dissertation I by September 1 of the year in which they are applying for the pre-doctoral internship.
