PBHL 7000 Practicum in Public Health

The practicum in public health is a field experience designed to offer students experience in applying and testing public health concepts and theories acquired in the academic program in a public health setting. The practicum experience aids students in the application of their professional, leadership, and ethical decision-making skills to a specific project in the public health arena. The course is taken during the semester in which the culminating experience/capstone project is completed.

Relation to Capstone Project (PBHL 7500): The Practicum is distinct from the Capstone Project, with each course earning three academic credits. An approved Practicum should precede/taken concurrently the Capstone Project since students will learn how to write an abstract and develop an effective poster presentation based on their Practicum project as part of their Capstone Seminar requirement
