MUSP 3450 Global Music Ensemble

The Global Music Ensemble offers students a participatory experience in various drumming, vocal, and other instrumental traditions from around the world. Students will have the opportunity to engage with several traditions, including but not limited to those of West Africa, India, Peru, and Brazil. Students will learn this music directly from master musicians who are representatives of the tradition. This semester-long course will conclude with a public performance. Several annotated discographies and videographies are also part of the learning experience.
